We are looking for an accountant who is responsible for managing and overseeing the financial activities of the organization. This includes preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate financial records, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments to support the company's financial health and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
  2. General Ledger Management:

    • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
    • Reconcile account balances and bank statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  3. Accounts Payable and Receivable:

    • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
    • Review and process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.
  4. Budgeting and Forecasting:

    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
    • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.
  5. Audit and Compliance:

    • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant financial regulations.
  6. Tax Preparation and Compliance:

    • Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other regulatory filings.
    • Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  7. Financial Analysis:

    • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
    • Provide insights and recommendations to management based on financial data.
  8. Process Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for improving financial processes and systems.
    • Implement best practices and efficiencies in financial operations.
  9. Payroll Management:

    • Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate and timely payment of employee salaries and benefits.
    • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
  10. Collaboration and Communication:

    • Work closely with other departments to gather financial information and support business operations.
    • Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience (3+ years) in accounting or a related role.
  3. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Buildium, QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  4. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  6. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  7. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
